GRACE GREETINGS DEADLINE Sorry for the short notice, articles for the August Grace Greetings are due by Tuesday July 16.   You can submit your articles by email to officeadmin@gracewaterloo.org or leave a hard copy in the office.

LOVE INC. ANNOUNCEMENT  This is the second year we will be having a school supply store for neighbors in the Cedar Valley.  This year it will be held at Trinity Bible Church, Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd at Candeo Church.  Registration is June 28 – July 26.

We plan to join with parents of over 100 children to help provide school supplies for the 2024-2025 school year.  Parents will purchase a backpack at the event for $10 and then the kids will be able to use the provided school supply lists to travel through the store.

As you can imagine it takes a lot of hands to make this store work.  We especially need your help with collecting school supplies.  If you wish to help, check the bulletin boards (in either the narthex or the office hallway) for more information.

A LIFE QUOTE “Know that you too have been called to serve on behalf of life at such a time as this. God continually equips you, and you will be in awe of what He is able to do in and through you. The best part is He had it planned in the beginning (Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139:16; Ephesians 2:10). May you be blessed as you continue to serve life in His image!” Jordan Killinger iBulletin Board

BUILDING HEALTHY FAMILIES Humility is hard to come by during a difficult conversation - especially when you’re sure you are right and your husband (or wife, or child, or parent, or co-worker, or pastor…) is wrong. Here are three simple but powerful words to remember that will help when conflict comes in any relationship: I am sorry. “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Proverbs 15:1 Lutheran Family Service www.LutheranFamilyService.org     (515.573.3138 and LFSiowa.org)

MEMORY VERSE CHALLENGE - This week the verse is:

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

CATECHESIS – This week for those using the Catechism Study Guide you should be on the following page number according to what year you are doing.

Year 1 is page 41                        Year 2 is page 100;                                Year 3 is page 159;

Romans 6:22 “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.” The fruits of faith in Christ are the good works of a faithful Christian life. We have received grace upon grace in the free forgiveness of our sins, and so we are now free to go forth and bear fruit in serving our neighbor in the home, the church and society.
